Transforming the landscape of clinical care: sharing international views and experiences for clinical networks Peter Murray, director of the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) presented resently at the annual Health Inoformatics New Zealand (HINZ) conference in Wellington, New Zealand. He made the point that health professionals will have to recognise they will have to learn new skills and engage with new tools in order to keep up to date and importantly that mHealth will be the main channel of interaction. Dr Rahul Parikh MD of Kaiser Permanente is providing choices to parents who need health care for their child.
Creating an account at kp.org, parents can add their child to their account and email questions, concerns, appointment requests, medication repeats, immunisation information via a secure link.
Parents can sign up for newsletters about health topics including links to secure sites.
Parents can access a webpage with trusted information selected and provided by Dr Parikh and at Twitter.com news and tips about children’s health are also accessible. His aim is to make healthcare convenient for parents. (Dr Parikh on Twitter)

Fritz Kahn

Fritz Kahn, a German gynaecologist born in 1888, was a real genius of medical illustrations. More than a hundred years later Henning Lederer, audiovisual artist, paid tribute to this genius by creating the video below based on Kahn’s work. Enjoy:
